Foot – Mercato – Real Madrid
Hired with Real Madrid until June 30, 2021, Sergio Ramos is slow to extend his contract. While confidence has hitherto remained in the outcome of this case, we are starting to seriously doubt in Spain …
Arrived in the Spanish capital in the summer of 2005, Sergio ramos is one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid, but the 34-year-old defender could end his career at another club. The lease of the Spanish international indeed runs until the end of the season, and no agreement has been reached between the two parties. Florentino Perez and Sergio Ramos are however ready to extend their joint adventure, but a financial gap prevents the finalization of this renewal. This Wednesday, Marca advance that the Real Madrid closely follows the situation of FC Barcelona, which accuses a debt greater than one billion euros, and refuses to find itself in the same case, thus encouraging the Madrid team to be cautious, including for the contract extensions of its players. Optimism then begins to drop in Spain …
“The situation is very cold, close to breaking up”
While most journalists were confident about the outcome of negotiations between the Real Madrid and Sergio Ramos, the trend is starting to change, just over five months before the end of the Spanish world champion’s contract. Officiating on the Cadena SER, Antonio Romero is particularly worried about this file: “ I think Sergio Ramos’ entourage continues to convey the idea that there is no firm offer from Real Madrid. They continue to convey the idea that they see Sergio Ramos not being treated as the captain and the club emblem Ā», Said the journalist, before continuing in the program El Larguero : ” For the first time so far this season, I see the situation very cold, close to breaking down, and for the first time, I am more pessimistic than optimistic. In order for there to be no rupture, there must be the intention of a dialogue between the two parties. Since no one plans to move, the situation is entrenched. Besides the economic aspect, Sergio Ramos feels that at the club they are handling this extension in a way that a Real Madrid emblem does not deserve. He feels like he’s being treated like Luka Modric, but he’s not Luka Modric, that he’s treated like Casemiro, but he’s not Casemiro. He feels that as it stands Real Madrid are not giving him the treatment that the Real Madrid captain and emblem deserves, not just economically. I think the most important thing in this case is that Ramos considers that Real Madrid don’t put all their eggs in one basket.. So this could be the beginning of the end between Sergio Ramos and the Real Madrid, especially as the list of contenders is long for the player. The PSG would be ready to make a big offer to convince him to join the Parc des Princes while Bayern Munich, Liverpool, the Juventus or Tottenham would also be in the running.
