On the occasion of their 4-0 win over Sheffield United for Matchday 34 of the Premier League, the Tottenham players wore a special shirt to support a charity.

While they are usually dressed in an outfit where the AIA logo stands out in the center of the shirt, this time Spurs wore a shirt with the ISF Cambodia logo. ISF Cambodia is a charitable organization helping underprivileged children in Cambodia by providing them with care as well as access to education and the practice of sport.

As part of the long-term partnership with AIA, the London club aims to promote health and wellness throughout the Asia-Pacific region. This special jersey was also intended to educate spectators. It should be noted that in Cambodia, 49% of children live in multidimensional poverty and do not have access to health care and education. The ISF runs a football program allowing thousands of children of all abilities to practice their passion. It is also the first organization in the country to provide opportunities for disabled and HIV-positive players.

In connection with the AIA since 2017, the ISF has already benefited from Tottenham’s help for the development of football. This weekend, Spurs did it again when they won against Sheffield. The jerseys worn by the players have been signed and will be auctioned from May 5 in order to raise funds for the ISF but also for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation which represents the charitable branch of the club dedicated to creating opportunities that change lives through their local community.

“The funds raised will not only be channeled to these children, but will indirectly help raise awareness among Cambodians that we are doing much more as a society to improve the well-being of disadvantaged young people in the country.”, said Pauline Teoh, Managing Director of AIA Cambodia. After Lionel Messi and his pair of shoes sold at auction to support sick children, it is a new great initiative that we see in the world of football.
