The feat took place in EFL League Two, corresponding to the fourth division in England.
The record has a new king. In the match between the teams of Cheltenham and Newport County, the latter’s goalkeeper, Tom King, achieved a feat.
On an innocuous six meters, the Briton surprised everyone, including him, scoring in the opposing cages. A goal to goal as at the city stadium, except that it passes on a real football field.
Thanks to this goal, the goalkeeper of the English fourth division entered the Guinness Book, famous for referencing records of all kinds. The previous performance was owned by Asmir Begovic.
Remember, the Bosnian goalkeeper scored against Southampton from a long clearance of 91.9 meters, after only 12 seconds of play! Moreover, the Stoke City goalkeeper at the time achieved this performance in the Premier League.
Unfortunately for Newport County goalkeeper Tom King, his magnificent goal failed to win the game against Cheltenham. The two teams parted with a score of 1-1. However, thanks to this draw, Newport County consolidates its second place in EFL League Two.
